Graveyard documentation

Find closed, abandoned and leftover plugin clutter, see what it costs, and clean it up safely.

Install and activate

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin and upload the Graveyard zip.
  2. Click Activate.
  3. Open Tools › Graveyard and run your first scan.

If you bought a paid plan or started a trial, enter your license key when Freemius asks for it. The key is in your purchase email and in your Freemius customer account.

Run a scan and read the results

A scan checks each installed plugin against the WordPress.org plugin API and measures what your plugins, themes and database keep. You get a Graveyard Score from 0 to 100, also shown in a dashboard widget.

StatusWhat it means
MaintainedAvailable on WordPress.org and updated recently.
AbandonedNot updated for two years or more. This is a signal, not a verdict: some small plugins are simply finished.
ClosedClosed on WordPress.org.
Premium / vendorNot hosted on WordPress.org, for example a premium plugin that updates from its own vendor. These are not flagged as dead.
IgnoredA plugin you chose to leave alone. It stays out of your score.

The first scan can finish plugin lookups in the background. Results are cached for 7 days, and only each plugin's folder name is sent to WordPress.org. Your site address is never sent.

Plugin autopsy

Open a plugin to see the database tables, saved options, cached values, scheduled tasks and upload folders it keeps.

Orphaned tables

The Orphaned tables tab lists tables left behind by plugins you already removed, each with a confidence label. Deleting needs a typed confirmation. Graveyard only removes tables that are orphaned at that moment and never touches core tables or tables from another WordPress install in the same database.

Check before you delete. Table matching is based on names. Review each table and keep a backup.

What each plan adds

PlanAdds
FreeScan, Graveyard Score, dashboard widget, plugin autopsy and orphaned table cleanup.
ProRestorable burial snapshots, full cleanup of leftover options, cached values and scheduled tasks, one-click removal of unused themes, scheduled scans with an email digest.
BusinessClosed-plugin alerts, replacement suggestions, auto-bury rules that wait for your approval, an activity log with CSV export and WP-CLI commands.
AgencyA multisite network view with bulk actions, white-label branding and printable client reports.

Snapshots

With Pro, Graveyard saves a snapshot before it deletes anything, so you can restore it from the Snapshots tab.

Scheduled scans and the email digest

With Pro, set a schedule on the Schedule tab and Graveyard emails you a digest of what changed.

Multisite

Licenses are activated per site. With the Agency plan, the Network Admin screen shows which plugins are active on which sites and lets you deactivate closed or abandoned plugins, or clean leftovers, across every site at once. Archived, spam and deleted sites are skipped.
